Given : A circle of radius 6 CM

To Find : Draw its diameter and name it AB

using compa ss and ruler construct the perpendicular bisector of AB

does it pa ss through the centre of the circle

Solution:

Step 1 : Mark a point O

Step 2 : Taking Compa ss width = 6 cm and taking O as center draw a circle

Step 3 : Mark a point A on circumference / boundary of circle.

Step 4 : Draw a line segment from A  pa ssing though O  and intersecting circle at B

Step 5 : Using suitable compa ss width and taking A as center draw arcs on both side of AB

Step 6 : keeping compa ss width same and taking B as center draw arcs  such that it intersects arc drawn in previous step at M & N

Step 7 : Join  M & N ,

This line pa sses through O

Hence Perpendicular bisector of Diameter pa sses through the center of circle
