According to the nature of the question, we shall have 3 points.

  • 1st point will lie exactly on the circle
  • 2nd point will lie inside the circle   AND
  • 3rd point will lie outside the circle

Tangent is a line that touches the curve only at one point without cutting through it.

So exactly 2 tangents can be drawn from the point lying outside the circle.

And exactly 1 tangent can be drawn from the point lying on the circle.

And no tangent can be drawn from the point lying inside the circle.
