Draw g' versus d and g' versus h graph. Here, 'd' is depth below the surface of earth and h is the height from the surface of earth.

Given :

d is depth & h is height from the surface of earth

& g' is acceleration due to gravity at

heights & depths

To Draw : Graph between g' versus d & g' versus h

Solution :

Variation of acceleration due to gravity at height h above the surface

g is inversely proportional to r i.e. distance between centre of earth & object.

Variation of g at depth d below the surface of earth :

If mass m is placed at depth d , the whole mass of earth doesn't attracts the mass m , Rather only the inner solid sphere appply gravitational force .

g is directly proportional to r
