Given:

Grid is of 16 squares

2/8 red

1/2 yellow

1/4 green

To find:

Make a pattern

Solution:

Number of Red squares = 2/8 x 16

                                       = 4

Number of Yellow squares = 1/2 x 16

                                       = 8

Number of Green squares = 1/4 x 16

                                       = 4

Ratio of red, yellow, and green = 4 : 8 : 4

                                                    = 1 : 2 : 1

So, for every 2 sqaures of yellow color, there should be one red and one green color. Hence, the possible patterns can be:

  • Yellow Red Yellow Green
  • Yellow Green Yellow Red
  • Yellow Yellow Green Red
  • Green Red Yellow Yellow
  • Red Yellow Yellow Green
  • Green Yellow Yellow Red
  • Red Green Yellow Yellow
  • Yellow Red Green Yellow
  • Yellow Green Red Yellow, etc
