EXPLANATION

• Heart is one of the vital organs of the body.
• It function to carry blood to all parts of the body. Other functions include mainating blood pressure and controlling rythym and heart rate.
• Septum divides the heart into left and right side.
• it is divided into 4 chambers - 2 atrium and 2 ventricles.
• Right atrium gets oxygen less blood from inferior vena cave( blood from lower body) and superior vena cava (blood from upper body).
• Right atrium pumps blood into right ventricle.
• The right ventricle pumps oxygen poor blood to the lungs through pulmonary artery.
• Left atrium recieves oxygen rich zone from lungs via pulmonary veins.
• The left ventricle pumps pure blood back to the body.
• Valves - Tricuspid valve - between right atrium and right ventricle and Mitral valve - Between left atrium and left ventricle.
• Semilunar valves ; Aortic valve - Opens when blood flows out to aorta from left ventricle. Pulmonary valve opens when blood flows from right ventricle to the pulmonary arteries.
