◆ Reflex action -

• Reflex action is defined as involuntary response to a sensory stimulus.
• Reflex actions are controlled by both spinal cord and brain.
• E.g. we blink when an object suddenly aproaches our eye.

● Reflex arc -

• Reflex arc is pathway of neurons involved in a reflex.
• Components of reflex arc are - receptor, sensory neuron, interneuron, motor neuron, effector.

1. Receptor - It detects stimulus
2. Sensory neuron - transmit information to spinal cord
3. Interneuron - processing of information
4. Motor neuron - transmits action information to effector organ.
5. Effector - carries out specified action.
