The objects which can be an example of intersecting, parallel, or perpendicular lines are as follows-
- Daily life object-like example of parallel lines- the opposite sides of a rectangular picture frame, of perpendicular lines- corner lines of that frame, of intersecting lines - an intersection of train tracks.
- Definitions- Intersecting lines are formed when two or more lines in a plane cross each other. The point of intersection is when the intersecting lines share a common point that exists on all intersecting lines. Lines in a plane that are always the same distance apart are called parallel lines. Parallel lines do not cross. When two lines meet at a 90° angle, also known as a right angle, they form perpendicular lines. Here in the images AB and CD are two parallel lines, BCD makes a right angle, so BC and CD are perpendiculars and EF-GH are intersecting lines.
