In bacteria the nuclear region of the cell is not clearly visible due to the absence of nuclear membrane. Such nuclear region only contain nucleic acids, which is called as nucleoid.

In plant cell there is a clear and visible nuclear membrane. Such nuclear region is called nucleus. The nucleus contains chromosomes. Chromosomes are composed of DNA and protein.
