[tex][/tex]Concave lens
- (i) Concave lens produces a virtual image between the object and lens. The concave lens always forms images either at the focus or between the focus and the optical centre (in the same side of the object). Such images are always virtual, erect and diminished.
- (ii) The ray diagram is shown for the image formation when the object is placed beyond 2F2 . Here the image is formed between F2 and the optical centre.
Convex lens
- A diverging lens or convex mirror is used to produce a virtual image which is diminished in size when compared to the actual size of the object. However, it can also be formed by the converging lens and concave mirror, when the object is between focus and pole.
