Ans.

Respiration is a biochemmical process, which involves breakdown of large organic molecule to release energy. It is divided into three steps, glycolysis, Krebs cycle, and electron transport chain (ETC).

Bacterial cells are prokaryotic cells, which lack complex, membrane bound organelles, such as mitochondria. In these cells, glycolysis and Krebs cycle occur at cytosol, while ETC takes place in cell membrane.

Plant cells are eukaryotic cells, having membrane bound structures, such as mitochondria. In these cells, glycolysis occurs at cytosol, Krebs cycle occurs at mitochondrial matrix, and ETC takes place in inner membrane of mitochondria.
