The cellular respiration of bacterial cells and plant cells takes place in an inner membrane of mitochondria. The process in which cell utilize oxygen to convert glucose, a simple sugar into ATP.

There are 3 steps through which cellular respiration takes place-

• Glycolysis which occurs in cytoplasm of the cell where conversion of  glucose molecule takes place.

• Kerb’s cycle is carried out in an inner membrane of mitochondria where pyruvate produced by Glycolysis is transformed into carbon dioxide and water molecule.

• In bacterial cell, fermentation is the process that takes place to produce some energy for the cell and it also produces toxic molecules which have to be cleaned from the cell.
