Stress-Strain Curve:
- The initial part of the graph follows a linear relationship between stress and strain in accordance to Hooke's Law. In this part of the graph, if the strain is reduced/removed, the object will return back to its original configuration.
- After the linear part comes a non-linear part, called the PLASTIC BEHAVIOUR. In this part of the graph, when strain is reduced or removed the object does not go back to its original configuration.
- Finally, the the graph reaches of fracture point after which the object breaks down.
