Single phase AC voltage control operation is based on Switch on-off technique using thyristor for gate trigger pulses. Appropriate gate trigger pulses is applied to the input ac supply to the load so that it generates n number of cycle during the interval of Ton. After that, the thyristor T₁ and T₂ are turned off by blocking by gate trigger pulses.
