Answers
Answer:
Mushroom rocks are also called Pedestal Rocks. They are flat-topped rock masses supported by slender rock stems.
Formation: When a current of wind is loaded with sand, mostly all sand particles are carried along in the lower layers of wind due to their high density. Hence, the abrasive capacity of winds moving close to the surface is much higher in comparison to the winds blowing in the upper regions. It results in erosion of the lower parts of a rock mass whereas the upper areas are only polished and left as such. And this is how the mushroom rocks get formed.
If the abrasion continues excessively for a long time, it ultimately erodes the slender stem region and it becomes unable to support the flat rock top. And lastly it gets collapsed on the ground.
