Humans have a four-chambered heart and the type of blood circulation is called as double circulation. This process is necessary because the blood enters twice in the heart in a single cycle. The deoxygenated and the oxygenated blood does not get mixed and the circulation is maintained properly.

Haemoglobin is the respiratory pigment found in the RBCs of humans. This pigment is responsible for the transport of oxygen to the body cells for cellular respiration. Therefore, deficiency of haemoglobin in the blood can affect the oxygen supplying capacity of blood which leads to the deficiency of oxygen in the body cells.
