To draw:
Diagram showing Radius of Curvature and Principal Axis for a concave mirror.
Definitions:
Radius of curvature:
- Radius of curvature for a concave mirror is defined as the radius of the sphere from which the concave mirror was derived.
- For paraxial rays , the radius of curvature is approximately twice the focal length of the mirror.
- In ray diagram , radius of curvature extends from the pole of the mirror to the centre of curvature of the mirror.
Principal axis:
- This is an imaginary axis passing through the pole, focus and the centre of curvature of the mirror.
- Usually , the principal axis is considered as the reference frame on which the object is placed.
Hope It Helps.
