Procedure:


• Prepare 5% solution of each: Sodium sulphate and Barium chloride.

• Take little amount of sodium sulphate in a conical flask and a little solution of barium chloride in an ignition tube.

• Hang the ignition tube in the conical flask as shown in the figure below.

• Put cork on the flask. Weigh the flask .

• Now, mix well the two solutions.

• Weigh the flask once again.


Observation :


• Chemical reaction is observed.

• Weight of the flask remains unchanged before and after the reaction


Conclusion :


• Total mass of the products = Total mass of the reactants.



Hence, Law of conservation of mass is proved.
