The distance time graph of two bodies A and B starting from rest with A moving faster than B can be drawn by following steps.

  • Since both start from rest, assuming to be from the same point, the starting point will be origin.
  • We know Speed = distance/time.
  • Since speed is uniform, distance/time = constant.

 i.e, the slope is constant.

  • Since A is faster, A will travel more distance at a particular time. That is graph of A will always lie above B.

Keeping these things in mind the graph will be as in the attachment.

  • From the figure its clear that dA > dB. That is A travels more than B at a particular time.
