Solution:

First of all , we need to know a few facts about ray diagram formation in case of a concave lens:

  • Let's consider the object to be located at infinity.

  • While drawing ray-diagrams , we shall consider paraxial rays, i.e. the rays will be parallel and close to the principal axis.

  • Such paraxial rays after getting refracted from the lens will move in such a way such that backward extension of the refracted Ray will meet at the principal focus.

  • Hence , a pinpoint image , virtual image will be formed.
