Nervous system:

Divided into two parts:

• Neuron
• Neuroglial cells [ Constitute more than 50% ]

Neuron:

(a) Dendrites : Carries nerve impulse towards cell body.

(b) Cell body : It is also called soma/cyton/peuikaryon. It carried genetic information, also help in maintaining the structure of neuron.

(c) Axon : It carried nerve impulse away from the cell body.

Other parts:

→ Nissle's granules : Present in dendrites and cell body but absent in axon.

→ Node of ranvier : No myelin sheath is present.

→ Schwann cells may or may not be present.

Types of neurons:

• Unipolar neuron
• Bipolar neuron
• Multi polar neuron
