Water from the outsource we cannot take in as such and it has to undergo some purification process so that it can be consumed.
Water from source to home
- Aeration is the process which removes bad odors, Carbon-di-oxide, metals from the raw water.
- After this aerated water is stored in storage tanks for 10 -14 days so that the micro organisms oxidize the organic matters and ammonia present in it.
- Coagulation is done after the water removed from setting tank and moved to coagulation tank. There very light suspended solids can be removed by means of alum during storage.
- To remove unavoidable odors the water can be passed through filters containing activated carbon.
- After that disinfectant is added to the filtered water to remove pathogens and micro organisms.
- After this the disinfected water is pumped into overhead tank for subsequent domestic purpose.
- Finally the water can be made fit for consuming purposes.
