The rtd3.0 protocol provides a secure way to send data over a network. When the sender transmits a packet to the receiver, the recipient responds with an acknowledgement (ACK) to confirm receipt.
The sender side of the rtd3.0 protocol differs from that of the rtd2.0 protocol. Timeouts have been added to the rtd3.0 protocol to allow duplicate packets into the sender-to-receiver data stream.
The receiver side of the rtd3.0 protocol is identical to that of the rtd2.0 protocol. Because the rtd2.0 protocol is designed to accommodate duplicate packets, this is the case.
