Draw the graph for each of the equation x - y = 1 and 2x+y=8. Find the area of curve formed by these two lines and the y-axis. Also find the vertices of curve.​

Using the property of mod,there will be four equations formed:

2x+3y=6;

-2x+3y=6;

2x-3y=6;

-2x-3y=6;

Now we can see that these are the equations of straight lines,we form four four straight lines on the graph;

We need to take the area enclosed within the straight lines for the same reason why <=6 is given.

Now area covered in first quadrant is

1/2*3*2=3

So total area =4*3=12;
