Question :-

Draw the graph of 2x- y +1 =0 and y =2x. State the relationship that you observe for these two lines.

Solution :-

Given that :

  • 2x- y +1 =0
  • y =2x

When we solve the graph questions of equation, take one variable at a side, like y. And make 3 co ordinates of x and y. Then use the co ordinates in graph and draw the graph.

According to the question

1] 2x - y + 1 = 0

→ 2x + 1 = y

y = 2x + 1

Put x = 0

y = 2(0) + 1

y = 0 + 1

y = 1

(x,y) = (0,1)

Put x = 1

y = 2(1) + 1

y = 2 + 1

y = 3

(x,y) = (1,3)

Put x = 2

y = 2(2) + 1

y = 4 + 1

y = 5

(x,y) = (2,5)

Co ordinate table :-

\begin{gathered}\begin{gathered}\begin{gathered}\boxed{\begin{array}{c|c|c} \bf x,y & \bf x & \bf y \\ \frac{\qquad \qquad}{} & \frac{\qquad \qquad}{} & \frac{\qquad \qquad}{} \\ \sf 0,1 & \sf 0 & \sf 1 \\ \\ \sf 1,3 & \sf 1 & \sf 3\\ \\ \sf 2,5 & \sf 2&\sf 5 \end{array}} \\ \end{gathered}\end{gathered}\end{gathered}

2] y = 2x

Put x = 0

y = 2(0)

y = 0

(x,y) = (0,0)

Put x = 1

y = 2(1)

y = 2

(x,y) = (1,2)

Put x = 2

y = 2(2)

y = 4

(x,y) = (2,4)

Co ordinate table :-

\begin{gathered}\begin{gathered}\begin{gathered}\boxed{\begin{array}{c|c|c} \bf x,y & \bf x & \bf y \\ \frac{\qquad \qquad}{} & \frac{\qquad \qquad}{} & \frac{\qquad \qquad}{} \\ \sf 0,0 & \sf 0 & \sf 0 \\ \\ \sf 1,2 & \sf 1 & \sf 2\\ \\ \sf 2,4 & \sf 2&\sf 4 \end{array}} \\ \end{gathered}\end{gathered}\end{gathered}

They are not intersect each other, because if the equation are in correct.
