The line 5x+2y = 20 will meet the y-axis at (0, 10) and the x-axis at (4, 0).

Given:

The equation 5x+2y = 20

To find:

Draw the graph of equation 5x+2y=20. Find the points where the line meets two axes.

Solution:

The point of intersection of the given equation with the x and y axis can be calculated as follows

Given equation is 5x+2y = 20

Take x = 0

=> 5(0) + 2y = 20

=> 2y = 20

=> y = 10

∴The line will meet the y-axis at (0, 10)

Take y = 0

=> 5x + 2(0)  = 20

=> 5x = 20

=> x = 4

∴ The line will meet the x-axis at (4, 0)

The required graph can be drawn as given figure

Therefore,

The line 5x+2y = 20 will meet the y-axis at (0, 10) and the x-axis at (4, 0).
