EXPLANATION.

Equation of graph,

⇒ x - 2y = 1.

As we know that,

Put the value of x = 0 in equation, we get.

⇒ (0) - 2y = 1.

⇒ - 2y = 1.

⇒ y = -1/2.

⇒ y = - 0.5

Their Co-ordinates = (0,-0.5).

Put the value of y = 0 in equation, we get.

⇒ x - 2(0) = 1.

⇒ x = 1.

Their Co-ordinates = (1,0).

Required answer :-

Question:

• Draw the graph of of x - 2y = 1

Solution:

First,

We have to calculate value of y so put the value of x as 0.

That is,

(0) - 2y = 1

- 2y = 1

y = -1/2

y = - 0.5

So co-ordinates will be ( 0 , - 0.5 )

Now

In the given equation value of y is 0 and we have to calculate x

So,

x - 2(0) = 1

x - 0 = 1

x = 1

Co-ordinates will be (1, 0)

♦ x = 0 is the equation of the y-axis as the value of 'x' for every point will (x,y) on the y-axis is '0' .

♦ x = 0 is the equation of a line parallel to the y-axis and at a distance of 'a' units from it .

♦ y = 0 is the equation of the x-axis; as the value of 'y' for every point ( x,y ) on the x-axis is '0' .
