Explanation:

p(x)=x^2-x-12

=x^2+3x-4x-12

=x(x+3)-4(x+3)

=(x-4)(x+3)

x-4=0 p(4)= (4)^2 -4-12

= 16-4-12

= x = 4 =16-16

=0

similarly x+3 is also a zero .

Hence ( x-4) and (x+3) are zeroes of the polynomial
