Solution:

Consider the attached figure while going through the following steps.

Considering the figure, we get, the graph of the given equation intersects the y-axis at a point ( 0, 3.5) = (0, 7/2)  and the x-axis at a point (-7, 0)

Therefore, x = -7 and y = 7/2 are the solution of the given equation and not  x =3 and y=2
