x + 2y -3= 0
x = 5
y = ?
x + 2y =3
5 + 2y -3 = 0
2 + 2y = 0
2y = -2
 y = -2 /2
y = -1

IN GRAPH y = -1 & x = 5

Given:

x+2y-3=0

To find:

Value of y when x=5

Solution:

The given equation can be written as

x+2y=3

Substitute x=0

2y=3

x=\frac{3}{2}=1.5

The graph cuts the y-axis at point (0,1.5).

Substitute y=0

x=3

The graph cuts the x- axis at point (3,0).

Now, draw a line which cuts the x- axis at point (3,0) and y-axis at point (0,1.5).

Substitute x=5

5+2y=3

2y=3-5=-2

y=\frac{-2}{2}=-1

From graph we can see that when x=5 then

y=-1
