(i)x=0,y=4

L.H.S=y−2x=4−2×0=4−0=4

So,x=0,y=4 is a solution of the equation y−2x=4

(ii)x=1,y=5

L.H.S=y−2x=5−2×1=5−2=3=R.H.S

So,x=1,y=5 is not a solution of the equation y−2x=4

(iii)x=−4,y=−4

L.H.S=−4−2×−4=−4+8=4=R.H.S

So, (−4,−4) lies on the graph of the equation y−2x=4
