EXPLANATION.

Graph of the equation.

⇒ y = 3x + 2.

As we know that,

Put the value of x = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ y = 3(0) + 2.

⇒ y = 2.

Their Co-ordinates = (0,2).

Put the value of y = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ (0) = 3x + 2.

⇒ 3x = - 2.

⇒ x = - 2/3.

⇒ x = - 0.66.

Their Co-ordinates = (-0.66,0).

To find value of x when y = - 1.

Put the value of y = - 1 in the equation, we get.

⇒ y = 3x + 2.

⇒ (-1) = 3x + 2.

⇒ 3x + 2 + 1 = 0.

⇒ 3x + 3 = 0.

⇒ x = - 3/3.

⇒ x = - 1.

⇒ Value of x = - 1.

Answer:

x = -1

Step-by-step explanation:

Putting y=0

0=3x+2

3x=2

x=0.666

Their co-ordinator=(0.666,0)

Putting x=0

y=0+2

y=2

Their co-ordinator=(0,2)

Now, putting y=-1

-1=3x+2

3x=-3

x= -1
