We have, Polynomial

Let's Try splitting the middle term.

$\tt \longmapsto {x}^{2} - x - 12 .$

$\tt \longmapsto {x}^{2} - 4x + 3x - 12.$

$\tt\longmapsto x(x - 4) + 3(x - 4)$

$\tt \longmapsto (x + 3)(x - 4)$

Both, are Zeros of given polynomial So,

$\tt \mapsto x + 3 = 0.$

$\tt \mapsto x = - 3.$

And,

$\tt \mapsto x - 4 = 0.$

$\tt \mapsto x = 4.$

Therefore, the value of x be 4 , -3.
