EXPLANATION.

Graph of the linear equation.

⇒ 2x + y = 4.

As we know that,

Put the value of x = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ 2(0) + y = 4.

⇒ y = 4.

Their Co-ordinates = (0,4).

Put the value of y = 0 in the equation, we get.

⇒ 2x + (0) = 4.

⇒ 2x = 4.

⇒ x = 2.

Their Co-ordinates = (2,0).

\huge\underline\mathfrak\color{green}Answer

Given: We have to draw the graph of 2x + y = 4

Solution: 2x + y = 4

=  >  \frac{2x}{4}  +  \frac{y}{4}  =  \frac{4}{4}

= > \frac{x}{2} + \frac{y}{4} = 1

So, we have to plot the points (2,0) and (0,4) and join them.

(Here we used to attach the given graph)

This is the required graph of the equation

take x = 2 , y = 0

then, 2x + y = 2 × 2 + 0 = 4 + 0 = 4

So, the point (2, 0) is on the graph.

Answer:- A solution of the equation is x = 2, y = 0.
