Given:

Polynomial x+5.

To find:

The zero of given polynomial.

And to draw the graph of polynomial.

Solution:

Zero of a polynomial y = f(x) is the value of x such that the value of y = 0.

It is also known as the x intercept.

It is also known as the root of polynomial and y becomes 0.

Here,

Let y =x+5

It is a linear equation so there exists only one zero for this given polynomial.

To find the zero of above equation:

Let us put y = 0

\Rightarrow y = 0 =x+5\\\Rightarrow x+5=0\\\Rightarrow x = -5

So, zero of the above polynomial is at the value of x =-5.

And value of y at x =-5:

y = -5+5 \\\Rightarrow y =0

If we put x = 0

\Rightarrow y = 0 +5 \Rightarrow y = 5

Now, we have 2 points with us (0, 5) and (-5, 0) which can be used to plot the polynomial which is a linear equation.

Please refer to the attached graph.

Zero of given polynomial is x=-5
