For this, first we have only to take two values of x and to find the corresponding values of y, since it is a linear function. The graph passes through the points having coordinates in the form (x, y) = (x, 2x).

Consider x = 0 (Not necessary to take 0, take as you wish). This implies y = 2 × 0 = 0. So the graph passes through the point (0, 0), i..e, the origin.

Consider x = 1. This implies y = 2 × 1 = 2. So the graph passes through the point (1, 2).

So, to get the graph y = 2x, plot the point (1, 2) and draw a straight line joining this point with the origin.
