given equation is y = 3x-2

It is a linear equation of two variables x and y.

values of y will be represented on y axis called ordinate

values of x will be represented on x axis called abscissa.

For this equation there will be a line on the graph as it is a linear equation.

For plotting the line on the graph we should have different values of y for different values of x.

now by putting x , we will get different values of y.

            x                                                 y

           -2                                               -8

           -1                                                -5

           0                                                -2

           1                                                   1

           2                                                 4

           3                                                 7

we get the coordinates of point as (-2,-8) , (-1,-5) , (0,-2) , (1,1), (2,4), (3,7)

now plots these points on the graph and joined them them to form line.
