EPIDERMIC :- It forms single outermost layer of stem. It consist of small barrel shaped lying attached closely by the radial walls. Some stomata are also present. Epidemics is protective in nature.

HYPODERMIS :- It lies immediately below the epidemics. It consists of two or three layer of sclerenchymatous cells.It provides mechanical support and strength to the stem.

GROUND TISSUE:- It consist of a mass of thin walled parenchymatous cell. It is not different through definite tissue like cortex, endodermics etc. as in direct stem. The cell of ground tissue has intercellular space .
