the first stage is when the female silk moth lays hundreds if eggs at a time

these eggs hatch and enter the larva stage(plural- larvae)

they are fed on mulberry leaves

for 5-6 weeks they eat and then stop eating to make cocoons for themselves

which is made from special glands in the silk worms body

when they spin cocoons for themselves they enter the pupa stage  where further developments of silkworm continue inside the cocoon

this stage is desirable for silk producers

when they come out of the cocoon they are silk moths
