we have to find the equation of (1,6)&(3,2)
y-6=-4/2 multiplied with(x-1)
y-6=-2x+2
2x+y-8=0
the line meets
i)X-axis is
let y=0
then
2x=8
x=4
the line meets X-axis at (4,0)
ii)Y-axis is
let x=0
then
y=8
the line meets Y-axis at (0,8)

Given,

The line is passing through 2 points that are (1,6)and(3,2)

To Find,

The coordinates of the points at which this line meets the X-axis and Y-axis=?

Solution,

The slope of the line(m) = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

m = (6 - 2)/(1 - 3)

m = 4 /-2 = - 2

Equation of the line,

y - y1 = m (x -x1)

y - 6 = (-2)(x - 1)

y - 6 = 2 - 2x

2x + y - 8 =0

Equation of the line is 2x + y - 8 =0

Putting x = 0,

y - 8 = 0

y = 8

Now putting y =0

2x - 0 - 8 = 0

x = 4

Hence, the coordinates of the points at which this line meets the X-axis and Y-axis are (4,0) and (0,8) respectively.
