Target - to draw the magnetic field lines due to a circular current carrying conductor.

Apparatus required - Cardboard, iron fillings, circular conductor, source of electricity

Procedure - Take the cardboard and make two holes in it . Now take a circular conductor that can allow the flow of electricity through it . pass one end of electric conductor through one hole in cardboard and another end through another hole in cardboard . connect the both ends of a circular current carrying conductor to a source of electricity which contains a switch . Sprinkle some iron fillings on the cardboard . Now ON the switch and allow the electric current to pass through the conductor. When current will pass from the conductor then the iron fillings on the cardboard will arrange themselves with respect to pattern of magnetic lines around the conductor.

Now the pattern of magnetic field lines due to circular current carrying conductor is shown in figure.

These magnetic lines are in form of concentric circles.
