1 degree is equal to 4 minutes.


Therefore, if we are calculating time west of Greenwich then we need to subtract the calculated time from GMT. If it is on east then we need to add it.


Therefore, 30 degrees east and west of Greenwich,

30x4=120 minutes= 2 hours


For 30 degrees East of Greenwich we will add, 12pm +2 = 2 pm


For 30 degrees West of Greenwich we will subtract, 12pm-2= 10am
