Note: Take the arc more than half of the length of the line segment from point A and same from B and make them cut each other. Draw a line down and up joining the point where they intersect. Perpendicular bisector is made!!

take a compass and take more than half of the length of ab .

make arcs using the end points of the line segment above and below the line segment .

where the arcs intersect join them.
