Answer:

The growth curve of any organism appears to have a sigmoidal curve which includes lag phase, log phase, stationary phase and the death phase. The lag phase is the adaptation phase for the organism where they acclimatizes themselves to the new environmental conditions provided. The growth is slow at this stage. Whereas, in the log phase is logarithmic growth phase in which organism growth is exponential and rapid. By this stage they are completely acclimatized and they multiply or grow using nutrients/food available to them and finally they stop dividing at stationary phase which could be because of many reasons; exhaustion of nutrients, ageing of the cells, Inability of the cells to reach their maximum potential etc. Then finally, the decline or the death phase where the the death of the organism occurs.
