Concave lens

Explanation:

When the object is placed in front of the concave lens, the light rays diverge after refraction through the lens. So the light rays would appear to converge on the same side of the lens as the object, between the focus point and the optical centre of the lens. The image so formed will be virtual, erect and diminished.
