Draw the schematic diagram of a circuit consisting of a battery of 10v, 2ohm,3ohm and 4ohm, plug key and ammeter are connected in series. Calculate the electric current passing through the circuit and calculate the voltage drop for 4 ohm resistor.

Answer 1

R1= 2ohm R2= 3ohm R3= 4ohm

Re (total resistance)= R1 +R2+ R3

                            = 2+3+4

                             =9 ohm

current (I)= R/V

              =9/10

               = 0.9 amp

voltage through 4ohm resistor= IXR

                                                   = 0.9 x 4

                                                  = 3.6 volts.
