Function :

Neuron is the basic unit for information and conduction

of impulses. it is the structural and functional unit of the

nervous system. it is responsible for carrying the information

from the environment to receptors and from the spinal cord

and brain to muscles / glands of the body. The information

/ messages are carried in the form of nerve impulses. It , there

connects the different parts of the body, sends and receive

information, conducts , reflexes etc...It is just like electric

circuit in a building.

Function of Neuron:-

♤ The impulses of information travel from dentrites to the cell body, and then along the axon to its end.

♤ These impulses cross the synapse. At the end , the impulses travel form one neuron to the other up to the spinal cord or to the concerned part of the body.
