draw triangle POR where the angles are in ratio 1:2:3...

  • First we need to algebraically calculate the angle of each side of POR.
  • Let's take x, 2x,3x as the angles.
  • 3x+2x+x=180(angle sum)
  • x=30
  • 2x=60
  • 3x=90
  • Now you can use your protractor and construct these angles with random lengths.
  • Now measure each length and divide it by 3.
  • Keeping the angles the same, construct using a protractor another triangler similar to POR but 1/3rd in size.
  • This is how it is done.

A triangle PQR with angles in the ration 1:2:3 are given by 30°, 60°, 90°.

  • we know that, sum of angles in triangle =180°
  • given ration of angles = 1:2:3
  • let the angles be =x
  • then the ratio is given by,
  • x+2x+3x=180°
  • 6x=180
  • x=30°
  • 2x=60°
  • 3x=90°
  • Now,
  • The triangle PQR is similar to triangle ABC, with the sides 1/3 times the sides of the triangle PQR.
  • If side of triangle PQR, that is, QR=6cm, then the side of triangle ABC, that is ,BC=2cm.
