Draw velocity vs. time graph for a stone thrown vertically upward and attaining the maximum height.

Here x coordinate shows time and y coordinate velocity.The upward direction is taken as positive and downward as negative.Initially at t=0, initial velocity=v which is upward and decreasing,hence the slope of graph is negative.Slope of graph denotes acceleration which is g or 9.8m/s²,it is constant as accelaration remains constant during the entire journey.When it attains the maximum height its velocity becomes 0.And after this time velocity and acceleration both are in same direction i.e. downwards.Hence velocity becomes negative.In the end it attains the same speed as initial but opposite in direction.
