simply divide the line segment in the ratio 5:9 as xy=7cm and xz=2.5cm so zy= 4.5cm . now you must know that in construction we divide the line segment in ratio in which the point divides . so the ratio in which the line segment is to be divided is xz/zy which is 5:9 .
