Drawback of arid soil:

  • Arid soil biomass content is very low.
  • Water scarcity is the main feature for this kind of land.
  • This soil is found in dry and semi-arid regions such as Western Rajasthan and Arwali Mountains, northern Gujarat, southern Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh.
  • With the help of water irrigation, crops like wheat, sugarcane, cotton, jowar, millet are grown.
  • If the land is not fit for irrigation, this land is found barren.
